2016 Events Calendar

July 16-24 Scottish Diaspora Tapestry on display at the Montello Historic Preservation Society, Vaughn Hall, Main Street, Montello WI.

This Saturday, July 16th at 10:00 am is the grand opening of the international touring Scottish Diaspora Tapestryexhibit at Vaughn Hall in Montello. This is the only place in the United States where the tapestry will be on display. There are 304 beautiful, hand stitched panels including the Marquette County John Muir panel. Be sure to see it while you can!  July 16th is also the Scottish fest in Montello, so there will be a number of great activities going on in the community throughout the day.

On Saturday, July 23 at 7 PM The Montello Historic Preservation Society and the Wisconsin Friends of John Muir Present Classical Guitarist Jeff Bianchi. In honor of the Scottish Diaspora Tapestry Exhibit, the 100th Anniversary of the National Parks, and in recognition of John Muir’s boyhood home, Marquette County, Jeff’s evening program includes Scottish Lute Tunes and other specially chosen selections. Opening for Jeff will be Amanda Berthon, Celtic and Classical Violinist.

The tapestry exhibit will be available for viewing that day from 10 to 4 and beginning again at 6 PM before the concert and during intermission.
